Health Coach^® is a privately held company. It was founded in 1991 to create tools and systems to empower and enable individual’s to become increasingly “health-response-able”. This is the term Health Coach^® leadership has coined to represent the need for each of us, as individuals, to be better equipped to respond in self-directed health-supportive ways to the day-to-day challenges we face. As clinicians, facing the challenge of how to get sick people well, the founders of Health Coach^® had recognized the severe limitations of working “outside-in” on patients, and the great advantages of becoming better equipped to support their patients in working “inside-out” at the same time. While perceived to be somewhat controversial at the time, today, no one argues the intimate and primary role that the individual’s thoughts, feelings and daily actions play in determining their health and well-being.

Retrospective studies have since made it crystal clear that the majority of chronic illnesses are preventable with proper attention to diet and lifestyle factors. These studies have also confirmed that well over half of our current medical costs are spent on attempting to manage “preventable” chronic illnesses. Add to this understanding the fact that our medical costs are escalating at a rate that is not sustainable and threatens to bankrupt our nation in as little as 20 years…and everyone can understand our mission at Health Coach^®: “To be provide the cost and time effective tools required for all to become progressively more health-response-able and enjoy happier, healthier lives.”

Over the 2 decades since, our team has been developing the tools and systematic approaches to enable the time and cost effective support of healthcare consumers’ real world health promotion needs. While conventional medicine forges on in its quest to identify, categorize and treat disease after it has developed, (a noble and hugely valuable pursuit) Health Coach^® chooses to identify and co-develop the toolkit and universally accessible system to enable people to be more proactive and effective in the promotion of their health.

This has led to partnership with The LifeStrive Group and the co-development of systems that give consumers direct access to the tools and testing they need to track their health trends and learn how to improve upon them. With innovations that include our industry leading Health and Lifestyle Assessments, direct access lab testing and web-enabled courses and communities dedicated to health promotion 24/7, we are supporting health professionals and healthcare consumers in ways that are changing America’s health, one person at a time.
